Arabic Islamic Thought in the Iberian Peninsula and the Mediterranean: Past and Present

The Iberian Peninsula (today’s Spain and Portugal) and the Mediterranean Basin have been for many centuries a place where different cultures and communities coexisted and transformed one another. This symposium will engage with this rich heritage by exploring the Arabic and Islamic background, including the Fatimid legacy.  It will bring together several scholars who will shed light on this intellectual and philosophical heritage.
